Not dramatically -- the palace announced a honeymoon -- but the couple vanished from public view onto a five-mile sliver of land off the coast of Eleuthera that most people had never heard of. Windermere Island offered exactly what a future king needed: white sand, blue water, and the near-total absence of anyone who might care. The paparazzi eventually tracked them down, of course. But the island's appeal to people seeking beautiful anonymity was already well established, and it has endured long after the flashbulbs faded.
