Talia sits on the western edge of the Eyre Peninsula, where the land runs out at a wall of granite cliff and the Southern Ocean has spent millennia carving the rock into something extraordinary. There is a crater here called The Tub, fifty metres across and thirty deep, a granite-floored pit gouged into the cliff-top and connected to the open sea by a tunnel. Stand at its rim and you can watch the swell surge in below. The sheep station that gave the place its modern name shares the land with one of South Australia's most dramatic stretches of coastline.
