It is the kind of place that makes you forget, for a moment, that Mull has seen Viking raids, clan warfare, Spanish Armada shipwrecks, and the Highland Clearances. At 875 square kilometres, this is the fourth-largest island in Scotland and the second-largest in the Inner Hebrides after Skye, and its history runs as deep as its sea lochs.
