By the time it reaches the Arabian Sea near Karachi, this water has carved through the Himalayas, sustained one of humanity's earliest civilizations, fed the breadbasket of Pakistan, and shaped the political boundaries of South Asia. The Indus is not just a river. It gave its name to India, to Hinduism, and to the subcontinent itself.
