The name was borrowed: lifted from the nearby Harts Range, which a surveyor christened in 1870 for the distant politician. Beneath that imported label lies country far older and far more alive, the homeland of Eastern Arrernte, Alyawarre and Anmatyerre people whose connection here runs back at least thirty-two thousand years.]]></description>
