Within hours, singer Sam Cooke and NFL star Jim Brown joined them. Four of the most consequential Black Americans of the twentieth century sat together in a modest motel room -- not because they chose it, but because segregation left them nowhere else to go. That night, fictionalized in the 2020 Regina King film One Night in Miami, encapsulates everything the Hampton House was: a place born of exclusion that became a cradle of Black cultural power.]]></description>
