In March 2017, ten contestants walked out of the woods at Cul na Croise on the Ardnamurchan peninsula expecting to find a film crew, a finale, and an audience that had been watching them for a year. They were wrong about two of those three things. The audience had stopped watching the previous August. Channel 4 had quietly cancelled the broadcast of Eden after only four episodes due to poor ratings. The contestants, by the rules of the experiment, had been kept entirely cut off from news of the outside world and had no idea any of this had happened. They had spent a year building a self-sufficient community in one of the remotest corners of Britain. They came back to discover nobody had been watching most of it.]]></description>
