This is 'Fallen Star,' one of two striking art installations that define the visual identity of Earl Warren College, where engineering students walk past a massive boulder carved into the shape of a bear on their way to class. Named for California's former governor and Chief Justice of the United States, this is one of UC San Diego's eight undergraduate colleges, home to over 4,500 students who live in residence halls named for the justices who served alongside their namesake on the Supreme Court.
