Comoé National Park, stretching across 11,500 square kilometers of savanna and forest, owes this staggering diversity to a geographical accident: the Comoé River cuts a green corridor through dry Sudanian grassland, carrying moisture and life far north of where they belong. Patches of tropical rainforest thrive here alongside open savanna, gallery forests ribbon along tributaries, and rocky outcrops create microhabitats where species make their last stands. For several threatened animals and plants, this park is not just a refuge but the only one left.
