Stokes, medical practitioner from Sandakan. Henry William Webber, engineer from Manila. Donald Macdonald, planter from Kuching. Five men from different nations and walks of life, bound together by imprisonment and killed together on 6 July 1945, just weeks before the war that condemned them would end. Their memorial stands near the former airfield in Keningau, Sabah, where they were executed.
