What followed over the next three days would become the most celebrated British battle of the Korean War and one of its most costly stands. The 1st Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment -- the "Glorious Glosters" -- held Hill 235 against overwhelming odds until they were virtually destroyed, buying time that prevented the Chinese Spring Offensive from reaching Seoul.]]></description>
